Dear Xaverians,

Greetings to all of you from one of the two Co-Chairmen of the 50th Golden Jubilee Committee. Excitement is running high now among our students and graduates as the Homecoming Day, July 1, here at St. Xavier's School comes closer and closer.  It will mark the opening of our year-long celebrations.  I look forward to meeting you that day - and often during the year, until our closing ceremonies on July 1, 2001.  The official inauguration of the Jubilee will be at a date to be announced, probably in early November when the weather is favorable.

Please keep the Jubilee motto in mind: Honor the Past, Ensure the Future.  I hope each one of you has learned at St. Xavier's to live for God and lead for Nepal.  That is the best way to honor the past and ensure the future, for yourself individually, for your family, for the human community.  But by all means live in the present.

I'd like to share with you some words I find inspiring:

The past is history.
The future is mystery.
The present is a gift.

That's why it's called "the Present".

Thanks in advance for your cooperation and participation in our Golden Jubilee.

Yours sincerely,

Fr. Cap Miller, S.J.
Co-Chairman

This is the 50th year of our school.  We are proud to be celebrating the Golden Jubilee of our school St. Xavier’s and fortunate to have studied in one of the best schools in the world. We are today what we are because of the best, quality education we received at St. Xavier’s from the dedicated Fathers, Teachers and Staff and we are ever grateful.  We hope the ideals we created and were taught, “LIVE FOR GOD, LEAD FOR NEPAL”, will continue to guide us in our life.

We should join hand to celebrate this Golden Jubilee - as it is a rare occasion for all of us in our lifetime.  It is now time for us to repay the Guru Dakshina  - and what better Guru Dakshina could we give than helping the school celebrate successfully its Golden Jubilee.

The Golden Jubilee Committee has put a lot of effort in creating and selecting a wide variety of programmes as a part of the celebration.  This is certainly a joyous moment for all us as it brings us once again the opportunity to meet our dear friends some of whom we may not met since our school days and also gives us the opportunity to recall and share the good old days we had in the School. I am certain all will agree that those school days were the best we have had in our life.

I urge each and every Xavierian, wherever you may be, to join us in this grand jubilee celebration throughout the year from 1 July 2000 to 1 July 2001.

Lets us Honour the Past, Ensure the Future.
